Where It All Began
Alex Salman's journey in the restaurant business began when his father, Carlos Salman, a businessman with a passion for opening many different types of businesses, decided to open a restaurant despite having no experience in the industry. Alex stepped in to temporarily help get things started at Latin American Cafeteria in Bayside.
What began as short-term help quickly turned into a lifelong passion. Working hands-on in every area of the business, Alex discovered his love for hospitality, quality food, and creating memorable experiences. These early years laid the foundation for a future that would span decades.
Mojitos at Dolphin Mall
With years of experience, dedication, and a clear vision, Alex opened Mojitos Cuban Restaurant at Dolphin Mall.
Mojitos quickly became one of Miami's most popular Cuban dining destinations, known for its vibrant energy, authentic flavors, live Cuban music, and nonstop dancing.
It welcomed many local celebrities and well-known guests, becoming the place to enjoy performances by many of the era's biggest Cuban artists.
Mojitos Calle Ocho
Alex brought his dream to legendary Calle Ocho, opening Mojitos Calle Ocho.
Built from the ground up through the hard work, vision, and dedication of Alex and his two brothers, the restaurant became a true family project.
Its vibrant blue-colored building stands out on Calle Ocho, becoming a recognizable landmark that reflects the lively spirit, rich culture, and proud Cuban heritage of the community.

Mojitos earned its place among Miami's essential Cuban restaurants.
Four nights of live entertainment every week, unforgettable Cuban cuisine, handcrafted mojitos, and the best salsa nights made it a go-to destination for locals and visitors from around the world.
